The Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse released its final report in December 2017, shortly after the Royal Commission into the Protection and Detention of Children in the Northern Territory.
The reports from both the Royal Commissions were concerned with the safety and wellbeing of children. The Northern Territory Government is committed to the recommendations producing lasting changes to protect children through investment in early childhood development, education, health, housing and families, building better, brighter futures for Territory children and the entire Northern Territory.
As part of the commitment to the recommendations made by the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, the Northern Territory Government has committed to producing an annual progress report detailing progress the Northern Territory is making to deliver positive changes for children and families who experience vulnerability, disadvantage or trauma.
